Nine’s The Voice was crowned 2012’s ratings success story this week, with 3,325,000 catching show’s grand finale.
It marginally defeated Seven’s AFL grand final presentation to score the year’s top numbers, with the Swans’ victory ceremony stealing 3,222,000.
In a one-for-one battle between Seven and Nine, Nine’s The Block came in next with 3,063,000 watching the winner’s announcement.
It was followed by Seven’s AFL grand final match, on 2,962,000, and the My Kitchen Rules finale, which drew in 2,892,000.
The year’s top drama was Revenge, with the first episode attracting an unprecedented 2,379,000 for Seven.
Meanwhile, the top Aussie drama was Howzat: Kerry Packer’s War, which scored 2,374,000 for its first episode and 2,344,000 for its second.
Seven narrowly recorded the highest audience share with 30.6%, followed by Nine on 28.3%, Ten on 18.7%, ABC on 16.9% and SBS on 5.4%.
