David Fagan’s decision to leave his post at News Limited as Queensland state editorial director has prompted a raft of staffing changes for the publisher.

Fagan will leave the company on June 21 with five promotions to take affect after his departure.

Perth-based editor of The Sunday Times, Chris Dore, has been appointed as editor of The Courier-Mail.

Current The Courier-Mail editor, Michael Crutcher, is leaving the business.

Williams described Dore as one of the publisher’s “most experienced and talented journalists and editors”.

“I am sure he will do a terrific job leading The Courier-Mail as it continues its transformation into a truly multi-media operation, reflecting the vibrancy and energy of Queensland.”

Editor of the Gold Coast Bulletin, Peter Gleeson, has been moved to editor of The Sunday Mail.
