Movie streaming company, Quickflix, has appointed Kristin Marlow as chief content officer, a newly created position for the company’s next growth phase

Recognised for her breadth of experience in the media and entertainment industry across IPTV, subscription TV and free-to-air television, Marlow will now oversee the creative and commercial vision for Quickflix’s content strategy.

She will also be responsible for the strategic direction and development of all content programming, licensing and merchandising with a particular focus on streaming.

“Kristin is a senior media executive with considerable experience in film and TV content,” Stephen Langsford, founder and CEO of Quickflix, said.

“Her superb skill set, combined with her knowledge and experience within the industry, makes her an excellent choice for this job.”

The appointment follows Quickflix’s return to growth in the past six months with its service growing at 20 per cent per quarter.

In 2012 Quickflix was in danger of going into liquidation when US content giant HBO walked away from the company. Read more on that story here.

To promote its ‘Get your zombie fix’ season of films, Quickflix unleased a horde of zombies in Sydney’s CBD during rush hour in August last year.

It caused quite a stir. Check out the TVC here.
