Channel Ten has announced controversial journo Joe Hildebrand as a host of its upcoming morning show, joining the panel with media icon Ita Buttrose.
Hildebrand is a columnist and editor of The Daily Telegraph and host of last year’s ABC series Dumb, Drunk and Racist, and upcoming ABC2 series Shitsville.
“Joe is passionate, provocative and just a little bit odd,” said Ten’s director of morning television, Adam Boland. “He's also super smart and entirely unpredictable. He'll be right at home on this show.”
The show is the network’s latest shot at the morning slot after last year’s Breakfast lasted around only nine months.
The network announced Ita as the first host of the show in early June. The choice of Buttrose and Hildebrand have come under the guidance of former Seven producer, Adam Boland, to complete in the timeslot dominated by Seven and Nine.
