My Kitchen Rules’ Victorian contestants may have been ‘twinning’ last night but the 1.662 million people who tuned in to see their Greek instant restaurant did not help Seven win the ratings.
Nine overpowered its rival with the Twenty 20 Australia v England match last night, taking home a combined 31.8% share of all free-to-air viewers.
Seven was in second place on a total 28.2% share, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.
Seven won 6.30pm with MKR and 6pm with Seven News (1.203 million) but Nine ruled from 7.30pm until 10.30pm with the cricket (1.379 million).
While Seven may not have won overall but MKR trampled reality rival The Block on Nine. Just 638,000 people chose to watch The Block: Fans v Faves, just ahead of the 616,000 who watched Ten’s The Biggest Loser: Challenge Australia.
Nine’s primary channel took home 26.9% compared to Seven’s 22.5%.
New magic program Tricked came second at 7.45pm for Seven with 1.194 million tuning in.
The ABC had a strong night with four top 10 programs include The Real Mary Poppins (926,000) and Broken Shore (912,000).
The ABC took home a combined 19.2% share of all FTA audiences with 15.8% going to ABC1.
Ten followed with a total 16.8% and 12.7% for its primary channel.
SBS took home a total 4% share with 3.4% going to SBS ONE.
