The sixth season of Ten’s MasterChef Australia will make its return to television on May 5 at 7.30pm the network announced today.

The cooking competition is introducing Sydney chef Kylie Kwong as a regular guest mentor for its sixth season, joining the familiar faces of Matt Preston, George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan.

It will run on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 7.30pm.

Also returning to the television screen is Seven’s renovation competition, House Rules.

Wednesday April 30 is the return date for the program which ended its first season last year with 1.873m viewers for the winner announcement segment.
