NewsLifeMedia axes Sunday Magazine to launch a new weekly glossy

NewsLifeMedia is set to replace the newspaper insert Sunday Magazine with a new glossy Sunday Style, a move News Limited said will boost the group’s appeal to lifestyle advertisers.

Sunday Style will be appear in The Sunday Telegraph and the Sunday Herald Sun from March 3 with the final issue of Sunday Magazine to be in the February 24 issues of the papers.

Former Sunday Magazine editor Kerrie McCallum will lead the publication – which will have a focus on fashion, popular culture, food, travel and more – as editor-in-chief

When you combine Sunday Style with News’ other popular lifestyle brands such as body+soul and taste.com.au, advertisers have a very compelling and powerful avenue to communicate with their audiences.”

In a statement NewsLifeMedis said Sunday Style – which will run across print, tablet, mobile and social – is “destined to be Australia’s most powerful style experience”.

Media personality Hamish Blake, Zoe Foster, Jane Kennedy and Sarrah Le Marquand will feature regularly in the magazine with Donna Hay to share recipes each week.

Kelly Hume, who has previously worked at InStyle, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, is Sunday Style’s fashion director.

Meg Gray joins the team as senior contributing fashion editor with Trever Stones to be the fasion editor-at-large. Christine Centenera, Vogue Australia’s senior fashion editor, will contribute as columnist while Cleo Glyde is the new beauty and lifestyle director.
