Former Transport Accident Commission marketing boss John Thompson has been handed a role at media agency Mitchell & Sons leading the Victorian Government account.

Thompson stepped down from his role with the government agency in the middle of last month, having been with them for the past eight years.

The agency has also appointed Adrian Roeling, the managing director of emitch Victoria and WA, as general manager of the Melbourne operations, after eight years specializing in digital.

Both men will report to Allen Scash and join the agency’s senior management team.

Scash said: “The creation of these new roles is an important step in the ongoing growth and evolution of Mitchell & Partners.

“Adrian has an exceptional track record in media, most recently with a strong digital focus, and is an excellent manager.

“John is highly respected within the marketing community and his experience will help our team continue to build our wonderful partnership with the Victorian Government. It’s a great step for Mitchells as we head into our 37th year in business.”

Thompson said: “As a former client of Mitchells, I have enjoyed the exceptional strategic thinking and service levels they provide and I relish the opportunity to work with the Mitchells management team to continue building their market leading reputation.”

Roeling added: “I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to work more closely with the clients and the team at Mitchell & Partners, having worked alongside them for many years through emitch.

“I’ll be working with an outstanding group of people within the agency to continue to evolve Mitchell’s strategic, integrated and data-driven communications offering and ensure it remains a leader in the industry for years to come. It’s great to take on this new challenge with the Mitchells team.”
