The new managing director of Maxus Melbourne, Nick Keenan, has told B&T that he can’t wait to get started after it was confirmed he will be make the move from MediaCom.

GroupM this morning announced the appointment of Keenan to the newly created role of managing director for Maxus Melbourne.

Keenan admitted the two GroupM agencies have yet to finalise a date for when his new role with commence, but added that he's taking on a great opportunity at Maxus.  

"Maxus is an exciting brand with great clients, so it’s a wonderful opportunity,” said Keenan, who added that it was important that he showed loyalty to the GroupM network.

Keenan said it was a difficult decision to leave MediaCom but added he was proud of the work done at the agency.

Keenan, who has previously worked at News Limited, has been responsible for running Mediacom Melbourne’s trading and digital departments, and has held a number of senior positions at Mediacom over the past five years, working in key areas of the business including client service, investment, and digital.

Maxus Australia, CEO Jon Chadwick, said: “Nick is one of those talented operators in the market. We are delighted that he is joining Maxus to continue the momentum alongside the great team that is in place."
