MasterChef plunges out of top 20 shows

MasterChef the Professionals has dropped out of the top 20 programs and down to number 12 in the key 16-39 demographics, taking a hammering from Seven’s My Kitchen Rules.

The Seven juggernaut has also smashed Nine’s special The Block All Stars on from 7pm to 8.30pm which pulled just 1.08m last night, compared to 2.118m for MKR in the 7.30pm slot.

Total people numbers for MasterChef have not been released as OzTam only puts out numbers for the top 20 all people shows, but its demographic numbers from 7.30pm to 8.30pm are 204,000 16-39, and 298,000 in 18-49, according to the OzTam overnight ratings.

Ten’s only show in the top 20 last night was its News at Five, while ABC1 had six, with the revamped Can of Worms, hosted by rebel Wilson, also failing to get a sizeable audience, pulling in just 226,ooo in the 18-49 demo behind Q&A.

Seven dominated with 34.8% total network share, with Revenge(1.295m) fourth overall behind Nine News (1.342m) and Seven News (1.304m).

Nine’s The Big Bang Theory on at 8.30pm pulled in 1.14m, more than The Block leaving the network second in overall share with 27.4%, while Ten was fourth in share with 14.3% behind ABC with 19.7%.
