Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D dominates

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D helped Seven win to spot again last night as the promise of superheroes pulled in 1.301 million viewers.

S.H.I.E.L.D was Wednesday night’s most watched show with a 7.30 pm showing of its pilot episode and a 8.30pm follow up episode.

At 8.30pm Ten’s Wonderland  was watched by 543,000 people, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

The drama was outperformed by Nine’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two (558,000).

However, the turnout for Wonderland was better than last Wednesday evening where just 414,000 people tuned in. The result was Wonderland’s lowest.

The Bachelor pulled in 585,000 viewers at 7.30pm, it ranked 13th most watched program overall.

Nine’s Big Brother pulled in 818,000 viewers and the ABC’s Gruen Planet won 784,000 as 7.30 (757,000) topped off the top 10 shows.

Seven won the night overall with Nine as close runner up. The network won a 30.9% share of all free-to-air viewers across all its channels, compared to Nine’s combined 28.1% share.

Seven’s main channel took 23.4% alone while Nine took 28.1%.

Ten beat the ABC overall, winning a total 18.5% share across all of its channels compared to the ABC’s total 17.9% share.

However the public broadcasters’ main channel, ABC1, had a larger share of audience than Ten’s primary channel, 12.9% and 11.8% each respectively.

SBS won a total 4.7% share of all FTA viewers.
