MKR elimination comes second to The Voice

Last night’s elimination episode of My Kitchen Rules failed to kick The Voice of its perch at the top of the ratings last night.

The Voice dipped below the 2 million mark it broke through on Tuesday evening but was not far off with an audience of 1.996 million viewers, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

The sudden death cook-off which MKR contestants Jenna and Joana lost was watched by 1.405 million people.

The second broadcast of Nine’s new drama The Following dropped below the million mark and pulled five city metro audience of 816,000 viewers.

The result is down on its debut of 1.031 million.

Ten’s Mr & Mrs Murder sat in 18th place with an audience of 463,000 while The Project was watched by 468,000.

Nine topped the news battle with Nine News in third place overall and 1.293 million viewers. Seven News came second with 1.154 million, followed by ABC News with 855,000 and then Ten News at Five on 683,000.

The strength of The Voice saw Nine win the largest share of all free-to-air viewers again last night, taking 29.3%.

Seven came second with a 22.4% share and was followed by ABC with 10.3% and Ten on 9.4%.

SBS took 3.9%.
