Inside Story debuts to over a million

Nine’s premiere of its new current affair program, Inside Story, debuted with 1.03 million viewers in its 8.40 timeslot last night.

The debut episode last night dealt with some pretty intense cases of domestic violence, hosted by seasoned journalist Leila McKinnon.

Inside story won its timeslot, beating out Seven’s The Blacklist by 61,000 viewers, according to Oztam preliminary ratings.

Although this wasn’t enough for Nine to win the combined total share as Seven took out the top place with a total share of 34.6%.

Nine came an easy second with 31.2%.

Reality TV shows continue to dominate the ratings last night as Seven’s My Kitchen Rules nabbed 1.766 million viewers with Nine’s The Block not far behind with 1.234 million viewers.

On the other stations, The Bold and the Beautiful on Ten sneaked its way into the top twenty last night, grabbing 431,000 viewers and being the 20th most watched show yesterday.

In its 4.30pm slot, 125,000 people from Sydney and 123,000 from Melbourne settled down to watch Quinn go to Paris with Steffy.

These fans managed to up Ten’s total combined share which had seen its lowest share of 6.4% on its primary channel a few days ago since the introduction of Oztam.

Ten’s share last night was 13.1%, with 7.3% going to its primary station.

However it wasn’t enough for Ten to beat out the ABC who came in third with a total share of 16.8%, 11.2% of that going to its primary channel, ABC1.

SBS came fifth with 4.2% and 3.4% going to its primary station.
