Home and Away introduces webisodes

Home and Away fans can now get access to exclusive behind-the-stories ‘webisodes’ and find out what the next big storylines will be before they hit the TV show.

Seven Network and Yahoo7 have launched Home and Away Extras. New characters The Barrett brothers (pictured – played by Jackson Gallagher and Tai Hara) will be introduced online before they appear on air.

Lucy Addario, series producer, said: “We wanted to provide fans with new ways to engage with one of Australia’s longest-running and most-loved television brands. We’re going to reveal dramatic details of the characters’ back-stories before they are introduced as a major storyline.”

Kristin Carlos, director of connected entertainment at Yahoo7, added: “Home and Away Extras is a fantastic example of how Yahoo7 TV and Seven Network are creating premium content to engage fans beyond the timeslot of their favourite TV shows.”

The first Home and Away Extras episode will be available immediately after the 7pm episode of Home and Away on Wednesday. It will continue every week for four weeks, on Yahoo7 TV, until the new characters join the show on air.
