Havas Media Group has gained itself a slice of the New Zealand media and PR landscape by entering an alliance with Lassoo Media. Here’s the release:

Havas Media Group, the global media network of Havas, announced today it has formed a strategic alliance with leading Kiwi agency Lassoo Media.

This alliance will allow Havas Media Group to extend its presence in New Zealand, an important market in the Asia Pacific region while providing Lassoo access to the group’s suite of leading-edge digital, media and research resources.

Last year Havas Media Group had re-launched its Australia operation under the leadership of prominent media veteran Mike Wilson (pictured) and the new partnership is expected to further strengthen the group’s presence in the region.

Founded over a decade ago, Lassoo Media and PR has established itself as an innovative company, pioneering convergence between media, PR and digital.

Like Havas Media Group, Lassoo views itself as a challenger brand and one of New Zealand’s leading independent media and PR companies. Operating on both side of the Tasman, Lassoo’s clients include Red Bull, Sleepyhead, Cavalier Bremworth and Southern Cross Travel Insurance.

Vishnu Mohan, CEO of Havas Media Group, Asia Pacific says: “We are very excited about our future with Lassoo Havas Media and PR, and having a presence in the New Zealand market. We have been considering our growth options in the region for some time and wanted to join forces with a respected team who share our philosophy and ambitions.”

“We are delighted to announce our strategic alliance with Havas Media Group, one of the world’s largest communications groups. We share similar values and vision and see this alliance as a natural evolution for Lassoo,” says co-Founder and Owner Anna St George.

“Havas Media Group seamlessly brings together digital, data and content in what can be a confusing landscape to navigate. This fits perfectly with Lassoo’s model and the needs of our clients”.

Bridgette Franklin, Lassoo co-Founder and Owner, adds, “It is great news for our clients who will enjoy the combined benefits of Lassoo’s agile independence and Havas Media’s global knowledge and tools, leading to an increased ability to harness advancements in the fast-growing digital arena.”

As a result of this strategic alliance Lassoo will support Havas Media Group’s international requirements in the New Zealand market.

Both companies are still run by their founders who remain actively involved in the businesses and both invest extensively in experience and expertise.
