Redesign my Brain with Todd Sampson was awarded Best TV Documentary of the Year at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) awards yesterday.
The documentary that saw Sampson attempt to train his bran was well-received on ABC the first night it was broadcast, bringing in 865,000 viewers in October last year.
"It was my first time hosting a documentary and to win the AACTA for Best Documentary of the Year wasn't something I thought about,” Sampson said.
“Having nearly died making it – it's great to see it get recognised. It certainly puts a lot of pressure on Series 2."
This year marked the third year the awards were run with more than 40 awards bestowed upon the industry during January’s AACTA season.
The awards are often described as Australia’s equivalent of the Oscars and recognise excellence in a variety of fields such as screen writing, acting, costume design and many more categories.
