Final four for BWS creative gig

EXCLUSIVE: A month after liquor retailer BWS launched a pitch for its creative advertising account, B&T understands the shortlist has been whittled down to just four agencies.

It’s believed the Woolworths-owned chain, who recently completed a rebranding project which it said had almost doubled its store footprint across the country, is mulling over submissions from DDB, The Monkeys, The Works and independent Sydney agency Banjo.

Other players that may still be in the running are Leo Burnett or Whybin\TBWA. The incumbent is GHO.

When contacted by B&T about a timeframe on a decision about its creative account, a spokesperson for BWS would not comment.

Last month, Andrew Hicks, general manager of marketing for the Woolworths Liquor Group, said: “It’s an exciting time for the brand and the right time to review our marketing activity. We look forward to the review and invite interested agencies including our incumbent agency GHO Sydney to pitch for the business.
