Bauer Media and Hearst International have appointed Nicole Bonython-Hines as fashion director of Elle Australia in preparation for its launch in September.

Bonython-Hines has previously held the positions of fashion director on Follow Me and Cleo, contributing fashion editor of Harper’s Bazaar, and senior fashion editor at the now defunct Madison.

Justine Cullen, editor-in-chief of Elle Australia (pictured), said: “Nicole’s styling has an energy that is innately Elle – always beautiful, and always with an element of narrative and fun. She was a natural choice to bring the pages to life in Australia.”

Bonython-Hines said: “The Elle philosophy of representing both international and local fashion in a fresh, modern and authentic way is also very much my own aesthetic. I am honoured to have been included, and am excited by the prospect of working on the Australian edition of ELLE magazine.”

Bauer has also hired Heathermary Jackson as Elle Australia’s fashion editor-at-large.

Jackson has held posts as fashion director of The Face and Contributing Fashion Editor at Teen Vogue, as well as having shot numerous Elle UK stories and covers.

In addition to her editorial work, Heathermary’s runway collaborations include House of Holland, Salvatore Ferragamo and Karen Walker, while she counts among her advertising clients brands such as Maybelline, Levis, Barneys and Victoria’s Secret.
