While Australia’s win against Iraq last night to qualify for next year's FIFA may be dominating front pages this morning, the game didn’t exactly win over lounge rooms last night. The Oztam ratings show the game came in as the fifth most popular with 1.117 million viewers, aired on SBS.

That said, it was SBS’s best position in the top 20 shows of last night, with the FIFA Pre-Match the network’s only screening to grab a spot, coming in at seventeenth with 629,000 viewers.

News and reality renovation shows beat the game with Nine News grabbing 1.302 million viewers.

Seven News came in behind with 1.255 million viewers, before Seven’s reno show House Rules came in third at 1.159 million, and Nine’s The Block Sky High grabbing fourth with 1.131 million.

Ten just missed on making the top ten rated shows with NCIS grabbing 823,000 viewers, bringing it in at eleventh.

Overall, Seven won had 28 per cent of Australia’s audiences last night with the news, House Rules, and Packed to the Rafters leading it in.

Nine grabbed 24.2 per cent thanks to the news, The Block and A Current Affair. Netwrok TEN won 18.8 per cent with NCIS, the news and Masterchef coming in eleventh, fourteenth and fifteenth respectively. SBS had 14.8 per cent thanks to the game, and finally the ABC had a close 14 per cent with the news coming in tenth at 881,000 viewers, and its only other shows grabbing spots in the top 20 being 7:30 and New Tricks  with 643,000 and 610,000 viewers respectively.
