Cirrus Media acquires FST Media

Australia’s largest B2B publisher, Cirrus Media (formerly Reed Business Information), has acquired FST Media – the Asia Pacific’s leading producer of technology conferences and specialist publications for the banking and financial services sector.

Cirrus Media operates across 13 verticals – publishing 24 print titles, 100 associated websites and 90 email newsletters, as well as running 55 industry events. With well-known brands including B&T, Australian Doctor and SuperReview, Cirrus is well positioned to continue the expansion of FST Media’s portfolio.

FST Media will retain its brand under the agreement, and it is business as usual with the addition of some exciting new key vertical markets.

Cirrus Media CEO, Jeremy Knibbs, said: “FST Media brings significant opportunity for us with its focus on financial services technology, with potential to leverage our verticals. The calibre of FST Media’s leadership team and staff is a key strength, testament to its level of professionalism, focus on excellence in customer service and strong growth prospects in Asia.

“Cirrus Media is excited at the prospect to extend FST Media’s expertise in conferencing and specialist publications across our portfolio. Meanwhile, FST Media will further benefit from Cirrus Media’s strength in developing media brands, particularly through deeper digital engagement and content.”

In a joint statement, FST Media's Managing Directors, John Todd and Angela Horvat said: “FST Media is delighted to continue its significant growth and commitment to excellence in a multi-channel media group that spans print, digital and content marketing. Cirrus Media’s acquisition brings significant opportunities for FST Media to extend successful conferencing strategy to cross-industry clients.

The acquisition will see Angela and John as shareholders of Cirrus Media, with the two executives remaining as Managing Directors of FST Media.
