Carat Melbourne digital executive Sophie Swart has secured three-weeks paid work experience in an international Carat office as part of the inaugural The Carat Scholarship.

Swart (pictured centre) pushed through two rounds of presentations and judging to beat 22 other entrants for the prize.

The Carat Scholarship launched earlier this month to recognise young talent in the agency and will be rolled out across the Carat ANZ network over the coming months.

Simon Ryan (pictured right), chief executive of Carat Australia and New Zealand, said:

“The need to keep a great culture is vital in fuelling innovation and best-in-class media solutions for our clients. The Carat Scholarship is integral to recognising and rewarding the efforts of our team to create a culture that embraces great work. This can only harness our drive to build communication strategies that deliver real ROI and business results.”

The Carat Scholarship competition was open to anyone who had been  in the agency for 12 months or longer at a business manager, executive or coordinator level.

On Swart’s victory Carat’s head of vision and values Adriana Colaneri (pictured left) said: "Sophie delivered an outstandingly seamless presentation that was creative, impactful and exceptionally articulated. It was inspiring to watch her challenge herself, step outside her comfort zone and deliver a knock-out response. It was a true representation of the Carat Values that we encourage and are developing with our team."
