Big Brother steals the night for Nine

Big Brother’s grand final cleaned up for Nine in last night’s free-to-air TV ratings race, taking out the top two most-watched slots.

The Big Brother Celebration program topped the ratings, with 1.474 million people tuning in.

And the Big Brother program announcing the winner of the 2013 series – Tim Dormer (pictured) – won 1.398 million viewers.

The Big Brother Grand Final show also ranked well, in fourth spot with 1.131 million fans switching on.

The third outing for comedian Chris Lilley’s Ja’mie: Private School Girl struggled against Big Brother and fell flat for the ABC, however, dropping from fourth place with 880,000 viewers last week to 17th place with 592,000 viewers last night.

And Seven’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D also dropped out of the top 10, down to 13th place with an audience of 674,000, as did Ten’s The Bachelor, in 12th place with 704,000 viewers.

Joining Big Brother in the top 10 were Nine News (1.149 million viewers), Seven News (1.025 million), Seven’s Today Tonight (972,000), ABC News (866,000), Seven’s Home and Away (821,000), Nine’s A Current Affair (720,000), and Nine’s Hostages (718,000).
