Big Bang Theory makes a Monday night splash

The Big Bang Theory put in a big show for Nine last night, taking out two of the top 10 most- watched free-to-air TV shows.

According to figures from Oztam, the repeat of episode two of the American sitcom was the second most-watched show, with 1.232 million viewers. The Big Bang Theory was also in fourth place, with 1.158 million viewers.

News and current affairs dominated the rest of the top 10, with Seven News taking out the top spot thanks to its 1.259 million viewers.

Nine News won an audience of 1.229 million, Seven’s Today Tonight won 1.102 million and Nine’s A Current Affair had 1.091 million.

Home and Away, on Seven, also pulled in a big audience (1.037 million people) and The Blacklist, also on Seven, made it into eighth place with 1.029 million fans tuning in.

Completing the top 10 were Seven’s Highway Patrol (1.022 million viewers) and ABC News (875,000 viewers).
