The Australian version of Beauty and the Geek hit the spot for Network Seven pulling in an impressive 846,000 viewers last night, which was enough to clinch sixth place in the TV ratings.

As expected Nine and Seven's news offerings filled the top two positions, with Today Tonight taking third spot.

Seven will be pleased that Beauty and the Geek continues to pull in high ratings, with the program just failing to pip A Current Affair in audience numbers.

Popular US import How I met your mother was again a big draw, pulling in 777,000 on Seven. While Law & Order: SVU almost hit the 650,00 mark on Ten.

Nine shows Top Gear and The Big Bang Theory both managed to break the half a million viewers mark, while Ten’s The Project just crept into the top 20 with 466,000.
