60 Minutes has interviewed Gable Tostee – the man who was accused (and later acquitted) of the death of his Tinder date Warriena Wright. The first snippet of the interview was launched last night and the public reaction has been harsh.
Tostee was found not guilty of murder or manslaughter in the 2014 death of Wright, who fell to her death from the balcony of his 14th floor Gold Coast apartment. 60 Minutes has reportedly paid a six-figure sum to interview Tostee and get ‘his side of the story’.
A key piece of evidence in the trial was a 199-minute recording, made by Tostee without Wright’s knowledge, on his phone. Wright is heard screaming ‘no’ 33 times during the tape. According to the 60 Minutes preview, the audio will be played during the interview.

Here’s just a snippet of how social media reacted:
@60Mins instead of interviewing Gable Tostee and paying him a 6 figure amount use the money to educate men on what no actually means.

@60Mins Could Channel 9 stoop any lower than to pay this disgusting person to explain why a woman died at his house?

@60Mins ‘Can you understand why people have lost all respect for you as a current affairs program ‘

Tostee getting paid for an interview is so wrong. 60 Minutes should still be working to repair its reputation, not damage it further.
