Zeno Group, a global integrated communications agency, has appointed well-known digital marketer Geoffrey Emerson to the role of Director, Digital Strategy and Innovation, with the role commencing on November 3.

This appointment continues Zeno Australia’s investment in digital innovation, increasing its digital offerings to its growing client stable.

Emerson is originally from Los Angeles and currently resides in Sydney. He has held senior digital roles in the Australian advertising and PR industries for over 18 years.

“When we went to market to find this new hire, we had a very specific skillset we had identified to help build scale and depth of our digital offer to clients.  We’re operating in a fast moving world, and the pace of digital adoption implies that only the best and the fastest thinkers will be able to keep on track in this exciting and fast moving sphere,” said Myrna Van Pelt, MD, Zeno Group Australia.

“Geoffrey Emerson offers this and more. During his time in the industry he’s created multiple, enduring integrated campaigns, for global brands such as Coca-Cola, Telstra, Optus, Electronic Arts, Microsoft and PwC focused on igniting consumer’s passions and amplifying them on line.

“He’s fearless in his approach and has conceived a number of award-winning campaigns in this market.  It is his reputation for pushing the boundaries with innovative but pragmatic creative thinking that excites our team the most.”

In previous head of digital roles, Emerson created branded utilities and novel IP for some of Australia’s largest brands and global clients. Emerson also regularly speaks at industry events including AdTech Australia (2015) and Brand Summit (2014).

“Integrated communication agencies are being forced to change by the inevitable transformation of media, and as a discipline the industry is ripe for true innovation. The task ahead for Zeno, and one that I am very excited to be part of, is to champion an era of better attribution, measurement, content and increased value to clients,” Emerson said.
