WPP AUNZ Confirms Departure Of Landor MD Dom Walsh

Ad giant WPP AUNZ has confirmed that Dom Walsh is no longer the managing director of Landor Australia, who left the group several months ago to pursue other opportunities.

Walsh held the position of MD at the branding and design agency from 2011.

WPP AUNZ CEO Mike Connaghan said in a statement: “Dom was instrumental in bringing together the Landor and Designworks businesses here in Australia, and we thank him for his commitment to the agency.

“He left behind both a strong Landor Australia leadership team and excellent client stable, which bodes well for the agency’s future.”

Connaghan said Nick Foley, president of Southeast Asia Pacific and Japan for Landor, has been spending more time with the agency’s Aussie team as they take the business in a new and exciting direction.

“Change in our industry is a constant; just as brands and consumers constantly evolve and disrupt, so too must the agencies that advise them. This change can be difficult, but it also comes with great opportunity,” Connoghan said.

“We see that in Nick, who agreed to spend more time with the Landor Australia team.  This a chance to take advantage of his proven and experienced oversight.

“Having spent time on both the client and agency sides in Australia and the region, Nick is perfectly placed to help broaden Landor Australia’s capabilities and sharpen its focus as it moves into a new phase of agency development.”

Connaghan said the leadership teams in both Melbourne and Sydney now report to Foley, who has experience in market research, brand positioning, naming, portfolio strategy, brand architecture, M&A branding, visual identity, FMCG, and internal engagement.
