Woolworths has fallen victim to some rather poorly placed point-of-sale material after a “make it a delicious day for dad” poster was placed next to the fresh pet food section.

The Father’s Day promotion was photographed at the Woolworths Hilton store in Adelaide and soon went viral.

However, it’s certainly not B&T’s favourite ever Father’s Day stuff-up. That honour belongs to the grocery store below that carried a “spoil dad this Father’s Day” promo next to Stayfree sanitary napkins.

It’s actually been a bad week all-round for The Fresh Food People after a Sydney mother took to social media after she accidentally packed dog treats for her children after they’d been wrongly packed in the confectionary aisle.

Tania Toomey had packed Scooby Snacks dog biscuits in her kid’s lunch-boxes after picking up a pack next to the Tiny Teddies.

Woolworths has since apologised and a spokesperson said in a statement on Tuesday: “Woolworths can confirm that a single packet of Scooby Snacks dog biscuits was accidentally placed in the biscuit aisle at the Woolworths North Strathfield store last week and subsequently purchased by a customer.

“We can confirm that the product is stocked as intended in the pet food aisle in the stores where it’s sold, with the product marked as ‘Pet Food Only’.

“Store teams have had further communication this week to ensure that no packets are mistakenly placed in the wrong aisle.”
