Tourism Tasmania Appoints Director of Marketing

After a five-month recruitment campaign, Tourism Tasmania has appointed local marketing and brand consultant Guy Taylor as Tourism Tasmania’s new Executive Director of Marketing.

Guy brings to the position over 20 years of experience in marketing communications and organisational strategy, which includes some of the country’s most successful brands like Blundstone footwear, James Boags Premium beer and RACT.

Guy Taylor is already well known to Tourism Tasmania staff and a number of tourism industry representatives following his participation in the new tourism brand project in 2012 and 2013.

This project ultimately led to the development of the very effective and successful Go Behind the Scenery advertising campaigns. Guy will take up his position with Tourism Tasmania on 11 August.

Planning is already underway for him to get out and meet tourism industry groups and major stakeholders in the following weeks and months.
