Thrive PR Expands ANZ Team With Dual Appointments

Thrive PR has announced it has expanded its team across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) due to accelerated company growth.

Two recent appointments include senior roles at Thrive’s Sydney and Melbourne offices, strengthening the agency’s corporate and media comms, internal comms, stakeholder relations and issues management services.

Clare Basire has joined Thrive’s Sydney office as business director. Leading the Sydney team, she will oversee the strategic campaigns for Thrive’s clients including Optus, Cisco, ASUS and Bauer Media.

Basire is a marketing and communications specialist who has worked across global markets including Europe and ANZ, with her 14 years’ experience spanning the corporate, telco, FMCG and tourism sectors.

She takes over from Frances Wills, who has moved into a national strategy role for the company.

“I am really excited to embark on this new challenge,” Basire said. “Thrive is an exciting agency that has been on my radar for a while. I am thrilled to be a lead in the agency as it continues to cement its position as one of ANZ’s largest independents.

“As a passionate PR practitioner, this is a fantastic opportunity and I am looking forward to working with the team as we deliver innovative and effective strategies for the global and local brands we represent.”

Mark Detre joins the Melbourne team as a senior account director. Detre started his communications career at Google in London, where he handled internal comms across Southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

A global internal comms role at Vodafone followed before Detre moved to the agency side, initially specialising in government relations and policy communications. He moved to Australia in 2015 and worked for PPR on brands including Australia Post and BAE Systems.

“We invest in our people under a best practice program that allows them to achieve exceptional results.

“Thrive’s HR practices place us above industry standards with staff retention. There are no barriers to learning, specialisation and playing to people’s passion points at Thrive.”
