Spotify Offers Obama A Follow-Up Job To President Of United States

Swedish music company Spotify has gone out on a limb and offered one of the most powerful men in the world a job, while still trying to be uber cool about it.

The ballsy offer comes after a conversation that President Barack Obama had with Natalia Brzezinski, wife of former US ambassador to Sweden, Mark Brzezinski, where he joked that he was “still waiting for my job at Spotify…Cuz I know ya’ll loved my playlist.”

Obama also said his 2013 visit to Stockholm was his “favourite trip”, with both quotes ending up on Natalia’s Instagram profile, and clearly the attention of Spotify.

So the global music company took matters into its own hands and wrote a job description for a new opening – the ‘President of Playlists’ – with requirements including “at least eight years’ experience running a highly regarded nation”.

The Swedish company’s CEO Daniel Ek then revealed the cheeky job offer to Obama over Twitter.

The job description also asked for an application with “good team spirit, excellent work ethic, a friendly and warm attitude and a Nobel Peace Prize.”

The company said the President of Playlists would come up with songs to suit occasions from “shooting hoops with your friends” to warming up for an address on “health care legislation that bears your name.”

And in the ultimate form of flattery, added, “Can speak passionately about playlists at press events. Let us be clear, you should be nothing short of one of the greatest speakers of all time.”

Well, if Trump can become POTUS, surely Obama has a shot at a career in music.
