Sixth Annual IGN Select Awards Winners Announced

The winners of IGN Australia’s sixth annual Select Awards were revealed during a huge special event at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney on Friday, February 16.

Some 225 Media & Game Publishers alongside 320 IGN Community Gamers attended the annual event. 2017 was absolutely crammed with terrific games and several categories were extremely tightly-contested.

The top three games in each category and the winners, as voted by IGN users, are listed below:

Best Ongoing Game: Overwatch

Runners-up: Grand Theft Auto Online, Rocket League

Best Visual Design: Cuphead

Runners-up: Horizon Zero Dawn, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Best Audio Design: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Runners-up: Cuphead, Horizon Zero Dawn

Best Game Design: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Runners-up: Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin’s Creed Origins

Best Storytelling: Horizon Zero Dawn

Runners-up: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Persona 5

Best Online/Multi: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

Runners-up: Destiny 2, Splatoon 2

Best Original Game: Horizon Zero Dawn

Runners-up: Cuphead, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

Editor’s Choice: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

 

Game of the Year: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Runners-up: Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin’s Creed Origins
