Qantas & GoCatch Bring Frequent Flyer Points to Sydney Ridesharers

Qantas Frequent Flyers booking a ridesharing service in Sydney with GoCatch now have the opportunity to earn Qantas Points.

Qantas Frequent Flyer members have been able to earn points when booking a taxi or taxi-van with GoCatch since October 2015, but from today, they’ll also be able to earn points on GoCatch Rideshare. To earn points, Qantas Frequent Flyer members simply need to download the GoCatch app, enter their Qantas Frequent Flyer details and complete a journey.Passengers will earn one Qantas Point for every dollar spent.

Qantas Loyalty chief executive officer Lesley Grant said that given the growing trend for ridesharing services, this is another great way for Qantas Frequent Flyers travelling in Sydney to be rewarded on their everyday spend.

“Ridesharing is becoming increasingly popular in Australia and with over 11 million members, Qantas Frequent Flyers are no doubt contributing to the growth of this industry,” Grant said. “It’s important for us to respond to this trend and use it as an opportunity to offer our members another way to earn Qantas Points.”

GoCatch is a nationwide taxi booking platform and recently launched Australia’s first locally-owned ridesharing platform in Sydney. The service will be expanded to other major Australian cities in which ridesharing has been legalised.

GoCatch CEO David Holmes said, “We are focused on providing a better transport experience and Qantas is the perfect example of our commitment to Australian quality and service. We are proud to partner with leading local brands to bring new value and services to our customers”.

The GoCatch app can be downloaded via the Apple Store or Google Play.
