Peking Duk’s Origin Pre-Game Slammed As “Terrible”, “Embarrassing” & “Lame”

If there’s one thing to be said about rugby league fans it’s they love their rock; hence last night’s decision to feature electronic dance act Peking Duk as the Origin warm-up has left many befuddled.

There’s no denying the hipster-esque trio put their hearts into the performance, however, league-lovin’ fans were not happy with the choice of act, with many likening it to US rocker Meatloaf’s disastrous performance at the 2011 NRL grand final.

To make matters worse, the NRL dragged out a couple of dozen fans to surround the stage during the performance who all appeared utterly bored by the performance.

Social media was far from happy, too, but not at Peking Duk themselves, rather the NRL’s decision to use them in the first place.

While other wits decried the lack of Jessica Mauboy who the NRL regularly drags out to sing the national anthem. Check out some of the choicest social media bile below:
