Optus Inks Bonus Subscription Deal With Stan

SHOWTIME isn’t the only big name Stan is teaming up with, with Optus today announcing a neat little deal in the works.

Optus customers who sign up to an eligible Home Broadband bundle on a 24-month contract will now score a three-month bonus subscription to Stan.

“Our customers want the best entertainment from Australia and around the world and through our partnership with Stan, Optus is delivering on its commitment to giving customers more of the entertainment they want, when they want it, on the device of their choice,” Optus acting MD of product and marketing Ben White said.

And according to Stan CEO Mike Sneesby, Optus is hitching its cart to the right wagon, with SVOD growing more popular and more mainstream at a rapid rate.

Sneesby added, “Optus delivers a brilliant experience to their customers and we are really delighted that Stan will be a part of this, with Optus broadband customers able to binge-watch Stan’s award winning TV shows and blockbuster movies un-metered from April.”

This is the second SVOD agreement Optus has signed, following its two previous deals with Netflix last year, but interestingly, the telco has no plans to secure any similar deals with Presto.

Customers who redeem this bonus subscription will get front row seats to Stan’s line-up of content, including Better Call Saul Season 2, SHOWTIME’s Billions, Sherlock and a range of movies, documentaries and kids entertainment.

Stan will be un-metred across all Optus broadband plans from April, while Optus TV with Fetch customers can access Stan through their 2nd generation set top box.

Stan can also be viewed on a range of devices, from Samsung or LG Smart TV through to Playstations, mobiles, tablets and PCs. Family members can watch Stan on up to three screens at the same time.
