With recent stunts that have included chicken-smelling perfume, edible nail polish, a $30,000 burger and a GPS recorded to an old-fashioned cassette, KFC’s latest marketing stunt could well be its oddest yet.
The fast-food’s UK franchise has just launched a new cocktail range made from – wait for it – its world-famous gravy!
Presumably, the stunt plays on the idea that the brown, salty sludge is so good you can drink it.
The campaign includes an online social media campaign and three cocktail recipes that gravy fans can make themselves.
Commenting on the latest stunt, Marion Racine, marketing manager at KFC UK & Ireland, said: “Our fans repeatedly express their love for our gravy, which always sparks ideas within the team. We know our gravy is good enough to drink – so with stocktails being a real hit at the moment, what better ingredient to take them to the next level?”
