Global small business tech provider GoDaddy has extended its ‘Cursor Man’ campaign with the launch of a new activation program aimed at transforming the online presence of small businesses and entrepreneurs in Australia.

‘The Search for Australia’s Real Life Cursor Man’ offers an opportunity for people to stage a web intervention, whereby they can nominate a small business owner who needs help transforming their outdated website.

An intervention will then be staged and filmed for those shortlisted SMBs deemed to be in the most need of online assistance.

The shortlisted SMBs will receive a free website design and consultation package from GoDaddy Professional Web Services, including free domain and hosting services and an Apple iPad Mini.

They will also be promoted through GoDaddy’s website and social media channels.

Tara Commerford, vice president and managing director at GoDaddy for Australia and New Zealand, said the intervention is an opportunity to identify those small business owners who need a digital boost and help them make their website and online business more efficient.

“While 40 per cent of SMBs don’t know where to start when it comes to getting online, the reality is it’s now easier to build a website and create a digital presence,” she said.

“From our two years in market listening to local small businesses, we know they are looking for hassle-free solutions to get online. Last month, we launched our new Website Builder product, which helps small businesses create a mobile and SEO-optimised and social-friendly website in less than an hour.

“This program is the next step of our campaign activation, and we are looking forward to working with Aussie small businesses to create and update websites for their business.”
