Filtered Media Expands Leadership Team After Big Wins

Filtered Media is thrilled to announce two new senior personnel have joined its growing ranks as it executes on its vision to become Australia’s most respected integrated brand storytelling agency.

After another record-breaking year in 2016 that saw new clients wins including Hisense, Financial Planning Association (FPA), AIIA and Jamaica Blue, the agency now employs 25 storytelling experts and is experiencing sustained growth in 2017.

Nicole Manktelow joined Filtered Media this week as Content Director + storyteller, leading a team of content and communications professionals working on clients including Telstra, Adobe and NEC.

Nicole most recently worked as Video News Director at News Corp, and is a respected technology, business and mainstream news journalist of more than 20 years with experience at The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald, Morningstar Australia and ZDNet, among others.

Her addition to the team strengthens the agency’s strategic focus on brand storytelling – an integrated approach to marketing communications services.

Michelle Bartolo was recently promoted to PR Director, rounding out the agency’s senior leadership team with a focus on consumer and lifestyle clients. Michelle comes to Filtered Media after years honing her skills across a range of consumer driven, senior PR roles in the lifestyle and technologies sector.

Michelle has worked in senior Public Relations positions at Freedom Kitchens and home renovations start-up, Houzz. Today she leads the consumer PR and social media teams for Hisense, Vitamix, Jamaica Blue and Diabetes NSW/ACT, among others.

Michelle also works closely with Senior Content Director Dina Pyrlis Gray, who joined Filtered Media in 2016 after an in-house role at Coca-Cola South Pacific. A seasoned communications executive and content strategist, Dina’s experience also includes work for Westpac, Cannon and McDonalds.

Dina and Michelle work across the agency’s lifestyle clients, including Coca-Cola, Vitamix, Jamaica Blue and Hisense. A big win in 2016, Hisense is working with Filtered Media on an integrated program of advertising, social media, public relations, events and content marketing campaign.

Meanwhile, also joining the team this week is Ruth Grigg, Executive Assistant to Filtered Media’s CEO Mark Jones and General Manager Paula Cowan. Ruth brings to the agency a wealth of experience supporting c-level executives at companies including Foxtel, Pernod Ricard and Bilfinger Berger Australia. Ruth’s expertise in business processes and systems will support the agency’s growth.

“When I think about the core values that have been central to Filtered Media’s success over the last five years, it’s great to see them reflected back in each of these hires. Nicole, Michelle, Dina and Ruth are people of integrity, authenticity, creativity, curiosity, excellence and positivity; and we couldn’t be more excited to have them on board,” said Heather Jones, managing director and co-founder, Filtered Media.
