Ex-GAP CMO Appointed As New CMO Of Spotify In The US

Spotify has announced that Seth Farbman will join the company as CMO from Gap, where he was also CMO. He’ll be based in New York and will start on 6 April.

At Gap, Seth overhauled and modernised marketing, adding strong digital and social media capabilities, while partnering with some of the most creative musicians, directors, actors and influencers to produce inventive branded content and advertising. He was recently named one of the top ten most influential CMOs in the world by Forbes.

Before leading marketing for Gap, Seth was president at Ogilvy & Mather, where he founded the agency’s sustainability marketing group, OgilvyEarth, leading global climate change projects for the United Nations and World Economic Forum, and managed a global portfolio including top brands like Time Warner Cable, DuPont, The Body Shop, Coca-Cola, Unilever and UPS.

“I’m incredibly excited to join a company that has been growing like crazy, based almost entirely on the quality of its people and its commitment to music, artists and fans around the world,” Farbman said.

“I’ve used Spotify for years and know first-hand how the experience makes music more personal and joyful. Now, I get to share that feeling and the Spotify story with millions of people everyday. These are revolutionary times for Spotify and the music industry and I’m grateful to be part of them.”
