EnergyAustralia Ditches MediaCom For Vizeum As New Media Buying Agency

EnergyAustralia today announced the appointment of Vizeum as its new media agency, parting ways from its longstanding relationship with MediaCom. Vizeum will be responsible for strategic and tactical media planning, media buying, market analysis and performance tracking in support of EnergyAustralia’s customer-centric brand strategy.

The energy company began the review in February, with the appointment wrapping up chief customer officer Kim Clarke’s review of the entire communications spectrum, which began after he joined the team from Vodafone last year.

Clarke said Vizeum will join iProspect and Cummins&Partners on the company’s roster of media and creative agencies, while thanking MediaCom for its support over the past decade.

“EnergyAustralia was comprehensively revamped in 2015 with a new executive team, a new business structure and a renewed, sharper focus on the customer,” Clarke said. “We took a fresh look at each and every part of our business and that included testing Australia’s pool of media agencies.

“The quality of pitches we received was outstanding. It was difficult decision but ultimately Vizeum showed it understood our commitment to putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

“We have some exciting plans for 2016 and we look forward to working with Vizeum to bring our customer and brand strategies to life. We think they’ll be a great fit with our team and the culture we are building at EnergyAustralia.”

Vizeum Melbourne general manager, David Campbell, added, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with EnergyAustralia to deliver innovative, consumer-centric solutions to drive brand and bottom line growth for their business.”
