Buchan Jumps Into Bed With eHarmony As New Comms Agency

Communications agency Buchan has been appointed strategic communications partner of global online dating service eHarmony.

Buchan won the account in a competitive five-way pitch, and will be spearheading the dating company’s corporate and consumer communications strategies in Australia.

eHarmony,  launched its services to the Australian market in 2007, serves over two million members, and has helped create over 150,000 relationships and countless first dates.

Marie-Claire Ducharme Sayers, senior PR and communications manager, eHarmony, said the chemistry with Buchan was present from the onset.

“The Buchan team were a compatible match right from the start – they understood our brief, presented a strong and senior team and delivered a creative, integrated approach,” Ducharme Sayers said.

Buchan GM, Gemma Hudson, said of the appointment, “We’re incredibly excited to be working with such a strong brand. eHarmony is a great addition to our growing consumer division and we look forward to elevating its presence locally.”

The eHarmony account will be serviced by a team across Buchan’s Sydney and Melbourne offices, led by account director, Anna Denby.

The appointment follows a number of other consumer account wins including China Southern Airlines, Tonga Tourism and Walden Farms.
