Australia’s Marketing Industry’s Got Talent

The Marketing Academy received an overwhelming response from the marketing industry in Australia with over 200 nominations to our first Australia Leaders Programme.

Founder and CEO of The Marketing Academy, Sherilyn Shackell says: “I am highly impressed by the quality of individual applications which is clearly indicative of a great leadership talent pool and a huge desire from individuals within the marketing and advertising industry to lead in business”.

The first Australia Leaders Programme delegates to be announced 19 February.

The selection phase to the first Australia Leaders Programme nine month mentoring and leadership programme is currently underway. Only 30 of the best applicants will be selected as delegates to the Marketing Academy’s first sponsor-funded mentoring and leadership programme in Australia.

Applicants will have put their skills and experience to test with a rigorous three-stage selection process, that includes an interactive ‘showcase’ together with employer endorsements. Secondly, select applicants will give a 10-minute pitch followed by a 15 minute Q&A session. Finally, a select group will progress to the third-stage, the ‘panel interview’: a 90-minute face-to-face interview with The Marketing Academy Australia’s selection panel.

Headed by Marketing Academy founder and CEO, Sherilyn Shackell, the selection panel comprises esteemed industry professionals including:

Sunita Gloster, CEO-AANA

Damien Eales, group director – marketing, NewsCorp Australia,

Maree McDonough, GroupM managing director of learning & development Asia-Pacific

Emma Hogan, Foxtel’s head of people and culture

Ben Lawrence Group, Wesfarmers chief human resources officer.
