ADMA Postpones AC&E Awards For 2018

ADMA Postpones AC&E Awards For 2018

The Association for Data-driven Marketing & Advertising (ADMA) has postponed this year’s AC&E Awards after requests from agencies to extend the deadline.

ADMA revealed the decision to postpone the awards yesterday afternoon with only minutes to spare before the final deadline for entries. However, no alternate dates for entries to be submitted by or for the awards gala dinner to be held on have been provided.

Stephen Porges, CEO of the Australian Alliance for Data Leadership, said in a statement to B&T: “We’re grateful for the many outstanding AC&E entries to date and acknowledge the commitment it takes to complete an award entry.

“As advised to all parties already, ADMA has decided to postpone the AC&E awards after requests from agencies to extend the deadline.

“We are absolutely committed to the development and recognition of the combination of creativity and effectiveness in campaigns and will provide updates on the new dates shortly.

“All those involved, including the board and all agencies who submitted an entry were notified yesterday. We look forward to showcasing the amazing creative talent that will be surfaced in due course.”

The AC&E Awards replaced the ADMA Awards in 2014. All entries to the awards are judged on their creativity and the effectiveness.

ADMA’s decision to postpone the awards comes a week after The Communications Council held its Effie Awards 2018, which also honours effective advertising and marketing.

The association has also been through a lot of change regarding it executive team this year.

Jodie Sangster quit her role as ADMA’s chief executive after seven years to join IBM Watson in March. Ben Sharp was brought in as her replacement, only to quit two weeks later. Last month, ADMA named Andrea Martens ad its new managing director.
