David Jones marketer Sacha Laing has resigned from his post and is replaced by customer innovation executive, David Robinson.

Robinson, who has been group executive of omni channel retail for DJs since August 2011, is now group executive of marketing, financial services and customer innovation.

The new role is a combination of the one vacated by Laing and Robinson’s own customer innovation and growth portfolio.

In a statement the retailer said: “The combination of Customer Innovation with Marketing and Financial Services will enable the Company to leverage its management structure and resources and deliver a fully integrated and seamless customer interface.”

DJs’ CEO and managing director Paul Zahra thanked Laing, who took on the head marketing role almost two years ago amid a marketing shakeup.

“David Robinson has worked with David Jones for 14 years and has a detailed understanding of our business. He headed the implementation of the David Jones American Express card program from an operational perspective and has worked closely with our Marketing team across all sales channels as part of our Omni Channel Retail strategy.”

The first campaign Whybin\TBWA has created for the department store emerged yesterday. Click here for more.
