Double Fault! Tennis Ace Roger Federer Stars In Hideously Bad Uniqlo Ad

When it comes to tennis legend status and generally all-round good bloke, few can deny Roger Federer’s credentials.

But a new ad for Japanese budget fashion chain Uniqlo shows that the 20-time Grand Slam champ may need to brush-up on both his piano (apparently he played as a kid) and his acting skills.

Last July, Federer, 37, ditched Nike to take up a 10-year, $US300 million deal to become one of Uniqlo’s global brand ambassadors that would see him wear the company’s clothing long after he retired from tennis.

The new campaign has him lounging around in the comfort of his home in a pair of the company’s, albeit rather comfy-looking, $A65 jeans (despite his estimated $US450 million personal fortune).

It’s unclear who the agency is that’s behind the rather awful ad, however, a spokesperson for the brand has described the spot as a visual story of the tennis champion “enjoying life at home in jeans”.
