KFC Resurrects The Colonel Himself For New Spot Following Colossal Chicken Crisis

He may have kicked the KFC bucket and gone to the great deep-fryer in the sky some 28 years ago, however, KFC has brought Colonel Harland Sanders back for its new “Comeback” campaign.

As you’re no doubt aware, KFC’s UK stores famously ran out of the Colonel’s battered bird after it was beset by delivery problems last February. Customers fumed and the fast food chain’s management quickly went into damage control.

But the brand and the Colonel are back in a new ad by London agency Mother.

The 40-second TVC uses news footage of the chicken crisis, stock footage of the Colonel and a rather thumping soundtrack to boot.

It even comes with a dash of the Colonel’s very own wisdom: “My philosophy – don’t quit. Even in tough times, I’d always give the best there was in me. And you’ll always get the best in return.” Check out the ad below:
