Sydney Markets’ Fresh for Kids program is again joining forces with Cartoon Network to get more kids eating healthily.
The annual Canteen Campaign, which kicks off on October 15, challenges students in NSW and the ACT to eat more fresh fruit and vegetables over a four-week period.
Children can collect stickers every time they buy fruit or vegetables from their school canteen, then go into the running for prizes from Cartoon Network such as a TV, iPads and The Amazing World of Gumball show bags.
Brad Latham, chief executive of Sydney Markets, said: “For school-age children, the canteen is one of the only places they make autonomous food choices, so it’s the best place to establish a lifelong relationship with fresh fruit and vegetables.”
Robi Stanton, vice president and general marketing manager at Turner International Australia, added: “We are thrilled to partner with Sydney Markets once again on this important initiative. Aligning Cartoon Network’s The Amazing World of Gumball characters with the Fresh for Kids program makes healthy eating choices fun for kids.”
