Aid organisation Simaid has launched a campaign to raise awareness about its initiatives in the rescue and rehabilitation of girls caught in sex trafficking operations in South Asia.
Simaid, which is directly involved in providing resources to rescue and look after the victims of sex trafficking, is supporting two projects: one in Bangladesh and the other in India.
The campaign will include constant Facebook and Twitter presences and a radio campaign on Hope 103.2 from May. Two of the program's project managers, currently working overseas, will also come to Australia in May to give talks at special events organised by Simaid.
Bruce Lyman of Simaid said the organisation was also in talks with an outdoor media company about a billboard presence.
While most of the campaign marketing is being handled in house, Taurus marketing has assisted with overall media strategy.
Sex trafficking enslaves approximately 27 million people around the world, with around 1.8 million children abused through prostitution, child pornography and sex tourism.
