Alira Connell

In 1998 Alira completed her Advertising Diploma at Macleay College and set her sights firmly on the advertising industry. Her entry point was receptionist at Stellar Sound, one of Sydney’s leading Sound Studios. She was so good, that just three months later the young receptionist was a young Studio Co-ordinator. Time flew and so did she. By 2000 Alira was so good at telling people what to do, she quickly moved into more of an overseeing role with day-to-day management.By 2001 she was implementing new systems and procedures to increase efficiencies, and working with management to grow the business. At just 21, she was even telling them what to do.It was all going so well, that is until late 2002. Enter Jamie Kwong – literally. He walked in to Stellar to work on two TV projects and walked out with two soundtracks and one Office Manager - Alira.Alira joined Jamie at the newly-formed Workshop in early 2003, to help implement systems and procedures to facilitate their rapid growth. Over the next three years, Alira took charge of the financial side of the business whilst moving through our Client Service ranks and completing a Supervisory Management course.By 2007 Alira had come a long way from that reception desk. Her incredible operational skills and ability to remain calm took Alira from Office Manager to Business Manager to General Manager and ultimately to Managing Director and Partner.Since 2008 Alira has completed an in-depth Leadership Development course and worked closely with Jamie to put in place a new structure, management team and systems that make Workshop a great place to work (and have your work done).
