Every state in bidding war for Idol spot

WITH the ratings of Network Ten’s Australian Idol continuing to soar, it is now offering clients in each state the opportunity to bid for a spot during the Idol final.

Originally, the network’s on-line buying service, BuyTen, was used to auction off the remaining advertising spots, at a rate of one per week, with the opening price set at $60,000 with increments of $2,500.

Media agency OMD purchased the first two spots for its clients Visa and Reckitt Benckiser’s Veet Rasera.

However, with such a high level of interest, Ten has now decided to auction off one 30 second spot in each of its five metropolitan markets from 9am October 11 until 2pm October 15.

The opening price for Sydney is $21,000 with increments of $1,000; in Melbourne it’s $18,000 with increments of $750; in Brisbane it’s $9,000 with increments of $500; in Adelaide it’s $5,400 with increments of $300; and in Perth it’s $6,600 with increments of $400.
